This necklace is made with large size Kahelelani shells all hand picked from the north shores beaches of Kauai, Hawaii. The Kahelelani shells are only found on a few select beaches in Hawaii, and nowhere else in the world. This ancient art form originated on the forbidden Island of Ni'ihau. These are some of the most rare and valuable shells in existence today. This jewelry will continue to gain in value, as the shells are washing in fewer each year due to pollution in our oceans.
Strung on 50lb' test braided nylon line, so it is very durable and can be worn in water.
The Puka shell clasp is very secure. Lei will arrive in a gift box.
