These earring are made using some of the most rare and valuable shells on Earth. The Momi shells (larger white) and the Kahelelani shells are known as "Niihau" shells, after the forbidden Island just Northwest of Kauai that has made these shells famous. They are so rare in fact, that they are the ONLY shells in the world that are actually insurable as GEMS! I hand picked each one of these shells from the beaches of Kauai, hand drilled each one, and strung them in a tradition weave unique to the Hawaiian Islands. These earrings create a very elegant one-of-a-kind look to any style. They are very popular here on the Islands.
They are strung on 40lb' test braided nylon line so they are very strong and durable and can be worn in fresh or salt water.
They are on 1/2' gold filled ear wires.
