About the shells;
Puka shells are the tops of cone shells worn down by the ocean over time hundreds of years in fact. Puka in the hawaiian language means hole or pierced. Cone shells come in many varieties and variations many of which are endemic to the Hawaiian islands.
There are less cone shells, puka shells and many other varieties of shells each day, do to our oceans water level rising and pollution.
